Axe Tap Types: A Study

Since long ago, in ancient times, axe throwers have tapped their axes together at the beginning of a match to signify mutual respect, comradery, and to make that delightful ringing sound for all to hear. Unfortunately, this aspect of axe throwing has rarely been studied or discussed, and I for one will not stand by without delving into the axe tap types mystery myself.

To that end, I’ve made a catalog of gifs – a gifalog, if you will, of the types of taps that one might encounter at the beginning of a match. By no means extensive, I hope that my work will help shed light on this important cultural aspect of our beloved sport. Below, please find, axe tap types: a study.
